Istituto Modartech and Istituto di Biorobotica Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna of Pisa organized a series of meetings for students of the Fashion Design Course.
Within the partnership between Istituto Modartech and the Istituto di Biorobotica della Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna in Pisa, multiple projects have been developed for the creation of wearable technologies, clothing or accessories with very high innovative content.
It has become increasingly necessary to allow engineers and experts to dialogue with clothing and accessories designers, to work in a team on the design of the so-called Wearable Technologies.
Hence the cycle of meetings aimed exclusively at the students of Istituto Modartech by some of the leading experts in innovative technologies and materials that can be used in various fields (sportswear, recreational and medical) thanks to the collaboration with fashion designers.
The first round of meetings was held by the BioRobotic researcher Leonardo Cappello who spoke about Functional Apparel Design and the use of innovative materials for wearable robots.
The second appointment was played by the researcher Vito Monaco, who explained to the students in which cases the biomechanics supports the work of fashion designers.
The last guest of the cycle of meetings dedicated to wearable technologies was the researcher of technologies applied to the health sector Andrea Mannini, which surprised the boys with examples of sensors and devices of computational intelligence applied to clothing.
