The ideas of the young designers of Istituto Modartech arrive in Milan from 22 to 24 February on the occasion of Lineapelle, the most important international fair dedicated to leather and accessories intended for fashion & luxury industry.
A special didactic collaboration, dedicated to leather and its characteristics, involved students from the Fashion Design Course and United Tanneries, a network of tanneries in the Tuscan manufacturing district committed to creating high-end leather goods for the most important Made in Italy fashion brands.
A research and experimentation activity, marked by a series of laboratory meetings in the classroom with the company representative, encouraged the undergraduates to create creative proposals in line with the concept of Human Environment, an anthropic environment, in which man relates to futuristic architectural structures.
Fifteen students were involved in the training project and five were the finalists who created creative proposals with the Research and Development department of the company, which led to the display in Milan of new materials and leathers as well as proposals for the exhibition stand for Martini Pio.
The tanning and cutting projects of young creatives follow the Lineapelle trends for Spring Summer 2023 where the sensorial aspect is the protagonist: fluid metals, iridescent colors, thermoactive materials and microperforations of the leather with multi-thickness pattern.
A prominent project was that of Roberto Beqaj, selected to live a direct experience in the company to discover phases of research, selection and processing of leather in close contact with the fashion world key figures.
A day ended with the award ceremony by Francesca Marozzi, Leather Technician of Dolce & Gabbana. His design, which integrates LED lighting, innovative materials and brightly colored leathers, will be exhibited at the Milan fair in the Martini Pio stand.
A synergy between Istituto Modartech and the manufacturing realities of the Tuscan district, which will continue over time in an ongoing exchange of techniques, research and knowledge where the creative visions of the students will meet the technique of Tuscan craftsmanship in a virtuous circle where leather is the protagonist.
