Working in high fashion is the springboard for many young creatives. Like our student Micol Procopio. She decided to indulge her passion for fashion by enrolling in the Bachelor’s degree course in Fashion Design which allowed her to mix theory and practice alongside teachers and experts in the sector and develop projects in collaboration with companies in the supply chain.
Today she works in the prestigious Maison of Ermanno Scervino and can claim to have fulfilled her dreams.

1. What pushed you to choose Istituto Modartech?
I attended the Three-year Course in Fashion Design at Istituto Modartech because my dream has always been to work in the world of fashion. Unlike other universities that offered training courses in fashion design, Istituto Modartech is recognized by the Miur.
The idea of carrying out a recognized and certified training course attracted me. At the end of the three-year period I will write a personal degree thesis and I will hold a Degree in Fashion Design
2. How has the Fashion Design Course contributed to your professional career in the Product Office Scervino?
Thanks to my academic and laboratory experience I have learned many theoretical and practical notions that I put into practice every day: from how a garment is made, to the processing of accessories and outfit , with notions of merchandise and modeling.
I also learned to recognize and choose fabrics, to create professional renderings thanks to the use of graphic design programs, used every day during classroom lessons.
The acquired knowledge does not stop only at the study of fashion in all its facets, but goes well beyond: they go towards a fashion that is becoming increasingly linked to technology, where the knowledge of programs is essential.
3. What role do you play in Scervino and what are your activities?
In Scervino I work in the fabrics office, where I develop both internal color charts for the company and those destined for boutiques and I carry out orders for samples. Having a good graphic and stylistic base helped me a lot because in the company I create patterns and placements for future collections and capsules. Working in Scervino is also a 360° training opportunity because every day I am in close contact with tailors, pattern makers and designers of outerwear, knitwear, footwear and accessories.
4. What advice would you give to future designers?
Struggle for what you believe for, even if it will involve effort and commitment.
My motto is: “If you have a dream, fight. It doesn’t matter how many times you fall but how many times you manage to get up and move forward.”
My secret dream? Becoming a buyer in the fashion world.
