Modartech wins at AltaRoma

Fabio Pucci, a Fashion Design student, was awarded the special prize for the best modeling proposal.

For having revived craftsmanship and tailoring with a modern language and attention to social intent“.

With this motivation, Fabio Pucci was awarded, student in his third year of the Fashion Design Course, who yesterday in Rome won the special prize for the Best modeling proposal of the “XXVIII National Competition for Young Fashion Designers CNA Federmoda – RMI 2018” in collaboration with AltaRoma.

Pucci, 21 years old, from Monsummano Terme (Pistoia), the only student from a Tuscan institute to participate in the competition, brought to the Roman catwalk the fruit of three years of study at the Institute, combining know-how, attention to detail, passion for tailoring, the revival of traditional techniques and attention to the environment.

A selection of women’s outfits that “recover ancient sartorial traditions – explained the very young designer – with handmade frames. My idea, precisely to highlight the importance of manual skill and “handmade“,was to leave the basting exposed, as in a sort of “unfinished” result of a study that look at the techniques used in the past by great designers, such as Cristobal Balenciaga, who inspired me”. Attention also to sustainability with the use of materials strictly made in Italy at 0 kilometer and adopting the recycling of fabrics.

The event – organized by CNA Federmoda – since 1991 has offered opportunities for young people to enter the world of fashion and for businesses to draw on new creative juices. 23 finalists, coming from specialized schools from all over Italy, who competed for the prizes made available by the organization thanks to the collaboration of many prestigious partners.

I can only be proud of this result – commented Alessandro Bertini, director of the Institute – because it demonstrates that the commitment of our students, combined with the skills of the teaching staff leads to the achievement of big goals. The recognition as Best Modeling Proposal makes me particularly proud, because Modartech has always made know-how, the technical and design aspect and the quality of products made with its own hands one of the strong points of the Institute, combined with research and experimentation with an eye always attentive to sustainability“.

The Fabio Pucci award, sponsored by Iacde Club Italia (International Association of Clothing Designers and Executive), was assigned by a technical commission made up of prominent figures from the Italian fashion scene, including Deanna Ferretti Veroni (Modateca Deanna), Elena Salvaneschi (TheOneMilano), Beppe Pisani (Serikos), Alba Rosa Ceccatelli (Paladini Lingerie ), Marcella Sabatini (Max Mara), Caterina Rorro (Lectra Italia), Stefano Baldi (Monnalisa), Piergiovanni Vitalini ( Forza Giovane), Barbara Fischer (Orobianco). Furthermore, members of the Commission are also Barbara Bonfiglioli (Fuzzi), Giovanni Cavagna and Gianni Braghiroli (Vittoria Bonini).

Fabio Pucci attends the course in Fashion Design, a course of study at the end of which an academic diploma equivalent to a first level three-year degree is issued, recognition issued by the Ministry of Education at the beginning of 2018, which transformed Modartech in all respects into a university institute.
