The National Professional Fashion Competition for Young Designers – RMI, a prize event launched by CNA Federmoda, takes place in Rome in July.
The project was born with the aim of rewarding young talents of Made in Italy fashion, encouraging creativity and promoting the professional development of young people, offering them the opportunity to enter the world of fashion and for companies to draw on new creative blood.
The protagonists are three young emerging talents from the Three-year Post Diploma Course in Fashion Design who have presented their creations.
The competition dedicated to young designers saw two of our students triumph: the one who won over companies and professionals in the sector was Mira Ascoli, winner of the prize for the “Clothing and knitwear section”, as well as the overall winner as best designer of the competition; Emma Orsucci, however, won the prize for the “Footwear and accessories section“. Our students stood out for their great manual skills, as well as for their strong ability to combine tradition and innovation in their creations. A special round of applause also for Rita Diomaiuto who saw her creations paraded in the final of the competition.
Awards that reward the students’ commitment and passion and make us proud of our talents.

Teresa Ferrara won the prize for the Knitwear section, winning the mentoring activity prize at Filpucci, a company of historical importance in the Italian textile district that produces high-end knitting yarns and collections.
Teresa, who reached the final with two of her colleagues, Cecilia Colca and Nicola Setaro, brought her collection “Caos / Calma” which, through the contrast of the two concepts presents a perfect imperfection of artisanal work. It is art itself that exploits symbolism in favor of accurate details and unique workmanship and focuses on the versatility of knitwear for games of heaviness that are both elegant and streetwear.
Awarded by a jury of companies and professionals in the sector, the designer’s ability to create network games that are transformed into unstructured and innovative shirts was recognized.
