ANIME SALVE
Loneliness is conveyed in the garments through processes – such as bleaching and fraying, to simulate the corrosion of the soul like that of the fabric, reverse embroidery and stitching as a metaphor for “keeping the pieces together” – and accessories, metal was in fact chosen for its high resistance and durability.
A particular focus on the skin as it is a reminder of the concept of humanity and what is found under the skin, which is often hidden or diminished and does not correspond to the total reality of things. The title of the collection is taken from a 1996 album by De André and takes its meaning from the etymology of the two words “anime” and “salve”, solitary spirits.
