The National Chamber of Italian Fashion and Kia have launched the Kia Designer Awards to promote the creativity and innovation of emerging brands and students of Italian fashion schools. For the six winners of the contest the opportunity to undertake a mentoring path focused on innovation and new technologies, with a focus on themes such as: metaverse, gaming and space economy.
Among them, the student of the degree course in Fashion Design of the Institute stands out Modartech, Lei Ann Orsi to whom a rich jury of illustrious people awarded the Kia Designer Awards for the project inspired by the bond between the Philippines and South Korea. Beauty standards, gender war, patriarchy and feminism told through symbolism, typical Asian clothing, metal mesh inspired by samurai clothing, contrasting textures and natural composition materials.
The creative proposal was presented on the occasion of the Milan Fashion Week in September 2022.
